Can you tell us about your role at WarehouseQuote?
I am an Account Manager in Operations. I manage the day to day operations and communication between the Clients assigned to me and the relevant warehouse partners.
What does your typical workday look like right now?
My typical workday starts by reviewing communications and requests from our Clients and warehouse partners to provide clarity. I then identify exceptions in order entry and fulfillment. I also do inventory reviews and reconciliation to ensure we are providing accurate data.
When the day to day is sound and no exceptions need to be addressed, I look for ways to enhance the customer experience by documenting processes that have changed or should be changed to help our Operations team and IT team drive innovation. As a team we look for ways to streamline and automate processes to expand capacity, allowing us to take on more clients, growing the business.
What’s your ‘why’ story?
Warehouse Quote provides quality of life to their employees, along with the growth potential and development for my career. As a company we practice “Work-life integration”. While other companies preach work-life integration, WarehouseQuote facilitates that. In my short time here my work and personal life have improved.
How did you get to where you are today?
I have worked in Management most of my career. I was a shift supervisor in fast food, before working at Walmart as an inventory associate. The majority of my career was spent as a supervisor at UPS where I gained leadership experience ranging from operations, training and development, and HR. Just prior to WarehouseQuote I was an operations supervisor at Advance Auto Parts during the pandemic supply chain crisis, while they were going through a company merger with Carquest. The experience I gained from Advance Auto Parts set me up well for my time at WarehouseQuote.
What excites you about working at WarehouseQuote?
WarehouseQuote is the most unique work experience I have had. The incredible benefits aside, the culture is second to none. I am surrounded by incredibly competent people who are working to provide an exceptional work product. Everyday I come into work, I know I have to compete. The culture challenges me to be a better version of myself. There are habits and traits I have developed from previous jobs that frankly, are not good enough for the culture we have here. It pushes me to improve my work ethic, expression, and relationship with my peers. Our leadership is always available and willing to invest the time you need from them. There is no place I would rather work, and I have never been as fulfilled in my work as I am here. I am personally invested in the performance of WarehouseQuote.
Any tips for aspiring WarehouseQuote team members?
Read the book “Traction” – by Gino Wickman, before or soon after you start. This book was suggested to me before I started, and I found it extremely helpful in understanding the culture and practices of WarehouseQuote. I found understanding the culture of WarehouseQuote was pivotal to my onboarding experience and helped me form my expression to mesh well with the culture at WarehouseQuote.
Embrace the challenges the work here brings by following the CORE principles. My personal mantra when facing new challenges here is ‘Be comfortable with being uncomfortable’. We are paving the way for a new type of business, many of the challenges are things we have never faced before. When we encounter new problems as a company, we run at them.
